Do Crops Grown Indoors Nourish Us?

I found this news release alarming. Can someone please test the nutrient density of this produce? Can we really produce healthy food without soil and sunshine? I don’t want to eat this stuff!

As my colleague states ever so simply:

Watch or read the work of Dr Daphne Miller. The microbes, in number and diversity, are important for nutrient, immunity and mood (love).

youtube: gut health and soil health are one.

Comparisons of urban versus farm environments found less asthma in children on the farm. Less asthma =more diversity and number of microbes. And this is just the beginning.

A microscopic look at the gut looks similar to soil. Hydroponics without soil may have similar nutrients but lacks the microbial life. (Ruth Knight, Organic Consultant Inc.)
